As an aspiring entrepreneur, Tom was destined to make his mark. Leaving school at the age of 15, Tom delved into the world of self-employment and set up his website, app and software development business, Thomas Patrick Creative Agency



Ramsey Grammar School – AS level Politics, History, Economics and Business. Left after the first year to start Thomas Patrick.

Work experience

2 weeks with Home Strategic (Organised through school), then 2 weeks with Gough Law and a couple months with Ashgrove Marketing.

When did you graduate from higher education?

Currently 20 years old, I left school aged 17. I've just celebrated my 3rd year in business with Thomas Patrick Creative Agency.

Life on the Isle of Man

What attracted you to remain on the Island after school for further education or work?

I love the Isle of Man and always have. I think it’s an excellent place to start a business with great opportunities.

What is your favourite thing about living on the Island?

The wealth of opportunities.

What are the career opportunities in your field of work?

There are loads of great opportunities for designers and developers in a range of fields eg. E-Gaming, Software, Web Development, Marketing Agencies etc.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in this field? 

It’s always been a hobby/interest of mine and I think being in web/software development opens me up to the ability to be involved in some incredibly fulfilling projects.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The flexibility and freedom, and the ability to meet and speak with innovative people.

Do you have any role models that have helped inspire you?

My family and a few of my AS Level teachers.

What are your aspirations?

To build a business that produces useful products which give bright young people an opportunity to flourish and have a hell of a lot of fun in the process.
